Byron Bay and Mullumbimby – Cape Byron Lighthouse walking tour

Pick up from your hotel

Cross the border from Queensland into New South Wales and arrive in Mullumbimby – ‘The biggest little town in Australia’! Mullumbimby is a very scenic, alternative little village. Nestled in the midst of verdant cane fields with Mount Chincogan looming in the background. There is time here to explore some of the most intriguing coffee shops, gift shops and local sites – a photographers dream. A typical Australian morning tea is provided here by your guide.

Arrive at the latest most ‘in place to hang out’ - ‘The Farm‘ for lunch. The Farm is principally a working farm who grow and sell their own organic produce. Take a stroll around and then settle into the very laid back, Three Blue Ducks restaurant where the patio offers sweeping views from Byron’s hinterland in the west, north to Mt Warning and east to Cape Byron Lighthouse. Experience the outdoor kitchen, including a double spit, a wood fire pizza oven and an Argentinian grill. The bar offers 56 taps of all Australian craft beers, wines and ciders and a selection of unique cocktails to cater to all tastes.

Leave The Farm and head into Byron Bay for a cruise around the town and onto the beautiful Watego’s beach where we will start our Cape Byron lighthouse walk. This walk is all uphill so you will need a fairly good level of fitness to attempt this. For the not so enthusiastic there is plenty to do in Byron town or we can drive to the lighthouse which is Australia’s most easterly lighthouse. From there guests can enjoy the magnificent views right along the coast and a chance to sight a dolphin, turtle or whale frolicking in the surf below!
